IATROPOLIS MEDICAL GROUP was founded in 1986 in Athens and boasts a number of firsts! IATROPOLIS Medical Group nowadays is operating eight (9) integrated primary health medical imaging centers in Athens, offering comprehensive imaging, laboratory and screening services, using top of the line diagnostic imaging, providing high quality services accredited by international standards (certified by ISO 9001-2008).
Investing in new technologies and techniques best practices and professional standards IATROPOLIS was the first in Greece to treat cancer patient with malignant or non malignant tumors in any part of the body or functional disorders, using the Cyber Knife treatment a non invasive robotic radiosurgery procedure.
The first to be installed and the only one Cyber Knife in Greece operate in IATROPOLIS since 2006 and treated more than 10500 patients so far with great success.
TOMOTHERAPY the new standard in patient care that gives clinicians everything they need to deliver the best radiation therapy possible, it integrates true CT imaging that can be used on a daily basis to guide the accurate delivery of each treatment session.
It was also the first and the only one ever to be installed in Greece. No other radiation therapy machine offers this seamless integration of image-guided and intensity-modulated radiation therapy. Since 2013 treats numerous patients in IATROPOLIS and the results are really amazing.
The increasing demand for Tomotherapy treatment forced us to install our second Tomotherapy in December 2015.

Furthermore the one and only and also the first to be ever installed in Greece Pet ct BIOGRAPH Mct flow is the world’s first PET ct system to eliminate the demand for stop and go imaging, because imaging planning and scanning is based in a single continuous motion of the patient table.

IATROPOLIS management soon understood that investing only in medical modalities was not enough in order to provide successful services. Already in 1998, the first IT system was introduced and put into service replacing manual and paperwork procedures wherever possible. Soon, a new software solution replaced the first one adding more features and functionalities to further improve overall activities. Additionally, a PACS solution was introduced in 2008 to facilitate patient examinations archiving.
The IT landscape was totally revised in 2014, starting a new era and offering a total approach for the Organization’s activities. The solution selected to cover ERP/HIS/RIS/LIS functions is the Enterprise SLIS Suite from Infomed, a local vendor specializing in Healthcare IT solutions. The platform introduced was especially parameterized for IATROPOLIS and covers the whole workflow of patient. In parallel with procedure handling, the vast amount of patient data generated (in the order of hundreds of terabytes) was greatly augmented by the introduction of a new PACS solution offered by Siemens (syngo.plaza&syngo.via). The overall management of medical modalities was decided to be handled by Siemens “teamplay” product, being one of the first installations in Europe. IATROPOLIS was selected by Siemens to be presented as a reference center due to the importance, complexity and size in their marketing campaigns.
IATROPOLIS is also associated with major research institutions and pharmaceutical companies for clinical trials, such as Pfizer, Roche, Novartis, GSK etc.
