The OTE Group Telecommunications Museum was established in 1990 and it is classified among the technological museums.
It is a corporate museum and with its unique function manages with responsibility its corporate in heritance.
The museum is a member of ICOM (International Council of Museums), CECA (International Committee for Education and Cultural Action), CIMUSET (International Committee for Museums and Collections of Science and Technology) and TICCIH (International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage).
Its collection includes more than 3.400 objects and rich, archival material of more than 23.000 manuscripts, maps, photos and audiovisual material. The experience of the visitor is enhanced in the newly renovated exhibition halls of the permanent exhibition on the 1st floor. There the history of the telecommunications is revealed starting with the invention of electricity to the satelite communications with the contribution of interactive technological applications. The OTE Group telecommunications museum implements sophisticated educational programs, such as art and technology workshops, , safer internet navigation sessions and moreover theatrical plays. These activities are addressed not only to all levels of education but to the whole family as well.
By visiting the site of the museum www.otegroupmuseum.gr the visitors are able with just one click to make a reservation for all programs quickly and easy. In this way the museum offers to the public more features for accessibility and thus it contributes dynamically to the digital era in which the group OTE has a leading position. Every year ICOM within the context of the celebration of the International Day of Museums at 18 of May chooses one museum as the honoured one for this day and for the whole year. For t2018 the greek section of ICOM chose the OTE Group Telecommunications Museum to be the honoured Greek museum
